Lazer Broadcasting is a large, wealthy corporation based in Oxnard that owns and operates several radio stations in Southern California. Lazer is accustomed to getting anything it wants. It is obvious they are not used to dealing with a community who cares about its lifestyle and is willing to protect local treasures like its hillsides and Wildwood Canyon State Park.
This latest application to put a radio tower/pole mechanism in plain sight in an environmentally sensitive area, the way they installed an illegal mock-up along with all the trash they left at the site and they way they have handled the meetings — both theirs and the county’s — are just more examples showing they feel they can treat our citizens with disrespect and contempt without consequences.
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has already voted unanimously to reject Lazer’s proposal and the city of Yucaipa has twice rejected Lazer’s towers and suggested other sites are indeed available. The County Planning Commission will again hear the latest Lazer radio proposal on Thursday, May 5, at 9 a.m. at the County Government Center at 385 N. Arrowhead Ave. in San Bernardino. All citizens are encouraged to attend and support the opposition. Just say no to this Lazer monstrosity.
